DENIGH Site Overview

A Brief History

Jon & Ian are founder members of DENIGH, formed mid 1978 and based in the Music Town of Folkestone, on the Southern coast of Kent, England.      Earlier experience on the local music scene had instilled in them a desire to write at least some of their own songs, in their own style, using the skills they had developed.

From the outset, the band enjoyed a loyal following at live shows and they made many support appearances with Budgie, Girlschool, Saxon, Samson, Torme and others.  However, by the mid 1980's, DENIGH disbanded.

Later, new interest in Rock Bands from the late 1970's  - now established as the 'New Wave of British Heavy Metal' - prompted the reissue of DENIGH's 1984 album 'Fire Form The Sky', in collaboration with the German Label Iron Pages.  This label also re-released the bands 'Double A' 7" single (No Way / Running) on a British Steel compilation CD.

A New Beginning With A Powerful Legacy

Ian and Jon's song writing is clearly British Rock, though they often will ignore accepted boundaries to bring something different to the fore.  Likewise, experimenting with different instruments and sounds will feature in their compositions.  Ideas are shared, tried and tested without prejudice!

Jon's distinctive vocals are ably supported by Ian's multi-instrumental skills, and the final touch being Ian's production techniques that clearly define the DENIGH sound.
